Reflection from Father John

Reflection from Father John

In this Sixth week of Easter, we approach the final weeks of the Easter Season. We continue to hear from Chapter 14 of the Gospel of John which describes Jesus’ words to His Apostles at the Last Supper. Jesus, before He underwent His Passion and Death, sought to console and strengthen His Apostles.

He promised to send them the Holy Spirit, telling them, "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept,..." (John 14:16-17)

"¿Recibieron el Espíritu Santo?" En el Libro de los Hechos lo afirman y confirman cuando dice que Pedro y Juan impusieron las manos sobre ellos y ellos recibieron el Espíritu Santo.

Me pregunto, has recibido el Espíritu Santo alguna vez? Recientemente se está llevando a cabo en diferentes iglesias el Sacramento de la Confirmación y el Bautismo; en ambos Sacramentos se recibe el Espíritu Santo.

Another Bus Trip in the Know Your Archdiocese Series

Join Father Davis on Tuesday, May 19th, for a special day-trip bus adventure to go see the newly remodeled Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, where Father served as pastor for 8 years before coming to Saint Gregory.

Soon to have a brand new pipe organ, it is one of the most historical churches in the Archdiocese of Miami, currently led by Father Manny Alvarez, formerly of Saint Gregory, who will greet us upon arrival. The trip will also take us to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity in Coconut Grove, where we will celebrate Mass and pray the rosary before the famous image of Our Lady of Charity.

We will then have lunch at the famous Versailles Restaurant on Eighth Street "Calle Ocho," the center of Cuban culture and food. All told, it should be a lovely day trip, with other adventures coming later this summer. Join us and come to know your archdiocese better.

Cost is $52 for the bus, plus your own a la carte selections at the restaurant.

Sixth Sunday of Easter

In the Gospel today, Jesus says to us: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments… Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and reveal myself to him.

In the first quarter of 2026 the SVDP assisted 33 families, providing food, rental, FPL, and other assistance totaling $15,372.40.

When we give to the poor, God indeed pours his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into our lives and through us into the hearts of those who are poor.

St. Paul Street Evangelization

St. Paul Street Evangelization

St. Paul Street Evangelization (SPSE) is a grassroots, non-profit organization, dedicated to responding to the mandate of Jesus to preach the Gospel to all nations. It is a casual conversational way of bringing the faith into the open air and the public square.

Wherever there are people, e.g., malls, parks, beaches, markets, are opportunities to embrace Christ's call to evangelize, bringing the Gospel, fully found in the Catholic Church to an inquisitive world. As an on-the-street Catholic evangelization organization, St. Paul Street Evangelization provides an avenue for people to share the truth and beauty of the Catholic Faith with the world.

SPSE uses a simple, nonconfrontational method of evangelization in which we make ourselves available to anyone to answer questions about faith and to pray with those who request it.
