New Sound System and Wiring on the Way

Wednesday, July 2, 2025

Due to the power surge damage that our church sound system suffered back in early May, we have been forced to move forward with a repair project for the installation of a new sound system and wiring plan.

Our sound company has temporarily loaned us a sound system which has been serving our needs for the past six weeks. And, although it sounds pretty good, the new system and wiring project that has been ordered will upgrade our sound quality exponentially through the installation of a new permanent system. Once finished, even our current speakers will have a more crisp and clear projection of sound to the assembly.

As you can imagine, the price of such a project is substantial. At this time Father Davis would like to invite our parishioners to consider making donations or sponsorships toward this important project, affecting the sound quality of our entire liturgical life at Saint Gregory. The price of the project is $81,520.

Any and all donations are, of course, tax deductible and are greatly appreciated. Please direct them to the attention of Father Davis at the church office. Thank you for your commitment to Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Parish in Plantation.

The Book of Isaiah

Wednesday, June 4, 2025

St. Jerome likened the book of Isaiah as the Gospel of the Old Testament because Isaiah prophesied more about the Messiah than any other book in the Old Testament. He also described in great detail the blessings of the future kingdom of the Messiah. His coming would be as a lion bringing the day of God's wrath, but first He would come as a Savior who would die for the sins of the people. Isaiah focuses on the salvation that will come through the Messiah.

When: Wednesdays, 9:00 am to 11:00 am starting September 17, 2025. *This is a 26-week bible class (September-April)*

Where: Saint Gregory Parish Garden Room 200 N. University Drive Plantation, FL 33324.

Cost of material: $65 (Checks payable to St. Gregory Church.)

Registration deadline: August 29, 2025.

For more information contact Martha E-Betancourt at mbetancourt@saintgreg.org.

Parish Registration Membership has its Benefits +

Wednesday, December 11, 2024

In this season, when there are many requests for letters of recommendation for high school admittance and sacramental sponsorship eligibility endorsements, Saint Gregory offers the following guidance: To be considered an active, participating, member of the parish and thus eligible for letters of recommendation, Saint Gregory takes into account a family's, or individual's parish registration on our data base (people must be on our membership roster for at least 6 months), their sacramental status (Are they Catholic? Have they been confirmed? Are they married in the Church?) their record of Mass attendance, their record of stewardship and contributions, their ministry involvements and whether or not they are known personally by the priests of the parish.

Since weekly offertory envelopes or on-line giving records are the primary means of determining if parishioners are regularly attending Mass, we ask you to place your envelopes in the offering boxes at the doors of church each Sunday.

Attendance at Mass is the most meaningful way we model and live our Catholic faith. Registration forms are available in the church office, or on-line on the Church Website.

Consider the tax benefits of year end giving.

Indeed, being a member has its benefits. We would love for you to be a formally acknowledged and treasured member of our Saint Gregory family.

Contact the church office for more information. (954) 473-6261. Thank you.
