Christian Initiation for Adults

Saint Gregory Catholic Church is happy to offer adults the opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about the Catholic faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

The RCIA is designed to assist adults who have never been baptized and wish to be baptized in the Catholic Church, or who have been baptized in another Christian Religion and wish to become Catholic, or who were baptized Catholic but have not received First Eucharist and Confirmation.

RCIA is a 7 to 8 month journey for adults who have not received the Sacraments of Christian Initiation, (Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation). Its goal is to help form a community of inquirers, sponsors and guides who unravel and plunge deeper into the depths of Catholicism, through evangelization and formal catechetical instruction firmly rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Those Catechumens (unbaptized), baptized but un-catechized and those seeking full Communion into the Catholic Church come together on a weekly basis to learn about the scriptures and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church while discovering Gods' presence and movement in their lives.

Adults in the RCIA program meets until the month of May and receive their Sacraments on the Easter Vigil. Weekly sessions consist of a presentation on a topic of Catholic Teaching, scripture reflection and faith sharing.
